OUR TRAVEL TEAM
Lauren graduated from Texas State University in December 2012 with a Bachelors in International Studies with an emphasis in Business. She also received a Bachelors in German & Spanish with a minor in Business Administration. She has been living in Costa Rica for 5 years now working in the Volunteer Tourism Industry.
Rachel graduated from Texas State University in December 2015 with a B.S. in Geography - Environmental Resource Management. She is currently pursuing her Master's in International Sustainable Tourism at University of North Texas & CATIE in Costa Rica. She has been conducting research regarding the benefits of Volunteer Tourism throughout her undergraduate and now graduate career.
Emily graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2015 with a degree in Anthropology & History and a minor in Underwater Archaeology. She is currently pursuing her Master's in International Sustainable Tourism at the University of North Texas & CATIE in Costa Rica. She is an avid diver and loves being in the water!
Nicole is a current student at Southwestern University studying Business and will be graduating in 2018. She is very passionate about helping people and mission work. She has done mission work in the U.S., Mexico & Nicaragua. She plans to continue working in missions in the future.
Jillian Palmer is currently a student at the University of North Texas in Denton, studying accounting. Her favorite place to travel is the Rocky Mountains, where she can backcountry camp. She believes sustainable travel is important because it allows us to leave a positive impact environmentally and culturally. She is excited about future opportunities to give people the chance to explore responsibly.
Onycha Vandermeer is a USMC Veteran who is currently living in Portland, Oregon. She has spent over 4 years traveling and living internationally and has a Bachelor of Science in International Ecotourism from Oregon State. While her daytime hours are spent working in a corporate headquarters, she spends her free time running her own business, Rescue Me Pet Clothing, as well as blogging, travel writing, and getting outdoors as much as possible.
Christa Conroy completed her degree in Communications with a marketing concentration at the University of North Texas in 2013. She feels that traveling helps us experience different cultures and promote new perspectives to enhance everyday life. After traveling to Finland in 2016, she witnessed the value of sustainable city life and how it can be translated to every culture with the right tools and training. She is excited to join the Las Olas Travel commitment to responsibility, self sustainability, and change.
Ana Trevino was born in Monterrey, Mexico. She moved to the United States in 2004. Currently, she is finishing her undergraduate degree in International Studies at the University of North Texas. Ana has experience working in the international field coordinating sustainable projects. She has a passion for traveling and sustainable community engagement!
Sarah graduated from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI in 2013 where she received a Bachelor's degree in studio art and a minor in art history. She spent a semester at the American University of Rome which ignited her passion for travel and changed the way she thought about the world. She currently lives in Austin, TX, where she works at UT Austin as a Library Specialist. She believes the ability to get to experience other cultures and meet new people is a gift that she was lucky enough to have been given. She would like to help others also have that chance.
April Seiler is a current student at the University of North Texas in Denton studying Advertising with a minor in Graphic Design. She is enthusiastic about travel because of the opportunities to meet interesting people and gain knowledge of cultural individualities. She hopes to continue to better herself and help others through these new opportunities.
Gabriel Killian has a Masters in International Sustainable Tourism from the University of North Texas and CATIE in Costa Rica. He currently works for InstantLocal, an up and coming app to help people shop locally. Gabriel is passionate about travel because it is the quickest way to gain a new perspective.
